ON THIS DAY…
🚈 July 25th, 2003: The Metro Gold Line between Union Station and Sierra Madre Villa in Pasadena is officially dedicated. The Metro Gold Line would officially open their doors to passengers the following day, July 26th 2003.
The Gold Line would become our region’s first light rail line of the 21st Century, with the entire project costing $859 million ($1.4b in modern-era).
Metro gave 159,000 passengers a ride on the Gold Line during opening weekend.

TUESDAY HEADLINES
🎭️ Unwind from the strikes at The Brisk Festival: The Brisk Festival is an international theater festival of short, ten-minute long one-act plays, and it all begins next week, August 5th, and runs through September 3rd
💁 What? Fifty-five short plays as selected from over 500 submissions. Over 200 artists will compete for a chance to perform in the ‘Finals Weekend,’ where prizes will be awarded for best direction, writing, acting and best overall play.
📆 When? Each Saturday and Sunday from August 5th through September 3rd
📍 Where? The Morgan-Wixson Theatre in Santa Monica
💯 CuratedLA Tip: Broadway is not affected by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, and thus, can be promoted and enjoyed by both sides of the aisle. The Brisk Festival will be a perfect place to enjoy the moment: strikeless, and enjoy what our community offers.
🚀 4…3…2…1: The Space Shuttle, Endeavour, is getting closer to landing at its permanent home, the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, a 200,00 square foot expansion of the California Science Center. The initial movement of Endeavour from its temporary home commenced on July 20th. This sixth month-long process of relocating the shuttle will allow all of us to enjoy an upfront, and in-person view of Endeavour, all located in the heart of Exposition Park
💪 The Rock surprises fan with cancer: We love seeing and hearing stories of celebrity surprises, especially ones that involve celebrities being of service to others. Here is a video of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson surprising one of his fans that has cancer

👛 Bring the young Barbie fans to this cafe: Cafe Landwer in Culver City has…you guessed it, a Barbie-themed menu. The menu runs until August 7th and is a great way to bond with your loved youngins. Hey Dads…maybe a Daddy/Daughter date is in the works?
🍕 Our Best Bet at getting pizza: …and when that Daddy/Daughter date happens, the rest of the family can swing by one of Culver City’s newest pizza eateries, Best Bet, as this grub is coming in hot, opening today

🏨 AC Hotel in Pasadena breaks ground: Marriott’s AC Hotel just broke ground and is on-track to open hotel doors to the public in 2025. AC Hotel will consist of five-stories, 194 rooms, and will have 5,000 sqft of street-fronting commercial using facing Colorado Blvd, topping this incredible view off with a rooftop bar
