🍔 The best eateries with grub, live music, and vibes: I still can’t believe that we live in Los Angeles…where else can we get cuisine options of Persian, jazz tunes, or retro TV dinners, all while jamming out to some good, live vibes? Here is just a list of three local restaurants that provide this treatment:
Sadaf Restaurant: This is a popular spot for authentic Iranian dishes, such as eggplant delight and ghormeh sabzi. On weekend evenings, you can enjoy the soothing sounds of a guitar player while you dine
The Velvet Martini Lounge: This is a cozy and classy lounge that transports you to the Old Hollywood era, with live jazz music, cocktails, and themed dishes. You can sit at the piano bar and listen to the singers, or order an old-fashioned TV dinner on a metal tray
Vibrato Grill Jazz: This is a respected venue by music legend Herb Alpert, where you can experience some of the world’s best jazz talent. The staff asks you to keep quiet while eating, so you can fully appreciate the music and the food, such as wild striped bass crudo and Wagyu ribey
And believe it or not, there is more to this list, as curated by Eatery…
🥪 A sandwich o’ map: a Reddit user from /r/FoodLosAngeles curated a map of best sandwich eateries within our area. It is quite impressive, and per the user’s post, is completely open to collaborating with others to update this nice sized bite of a map.
🛒 Lazy Acres Natural Market opens: This new market in Los Feliz embraces natural, wholesome, and delicious food, as well as beauty and wellness products that can nourish our bodies and our LA vibes. And FYI: Lazy Acres is now hiring for almost every role needed to run shop
🌶️ A hot spot for fresh and flavorful food: Habanero Mexican Grill opened in Burbank less than three months ago. The grill is open daily from 7am - 10pm and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, patrons can enjoy bacon and Popeye burritos with fluffy eggs, potatoes, and cheese. These burritos also have a healthy twist: spinach, and mushrooms to make us all feel guilt free. Kind of…

⚡️All of the lights up in WeHo, baby!: West Hollywood is shining bright with a new addition to its streetscape: rainbow lanterns that span across Santa Monica Boulevard. The colorful lights, which were first installed in the Rainbow District in 2019, have been extended to WeHo’s eastside and mid-city areas (hehe). The lights create a festive and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike
🥵 Is sriracha coming back? This was the question posed by one Redditor on /r/LosAngeles. And this is something that we often ask ourselves, even having a conversation about it over the weekend…maybe they are listening. Ok, back to sriracha: it can be found, but the price we will pay is three times higher. But…kind of worth it IOO.

CITY + G’VT
🚴 I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bicycle. In Beverly Hills: a long-stretch of Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills will now be devoted to bicyclists and pedestrians. The Beverly Hills City Council unanimously approved the install of these lanes last year in June. Now, these lanes are peddling their onto the public path they were designed for
🤘 Lancaster’s BLVD rocks out, car free: The City of Lancaster, in partnership with Metro, are inviting all of us on September 16th to join the Walk N Roll Fest, a fun-filled festival that transforms eight blocks of Lancaster streets into a vibrant space for music, food, entertainment, and more. We can all bike, skate, walk and scoot on carless streets. But don’t toot, as we will all rock out to music together in unison
🔥 Today is National Ranger Day: We would like to honor those that serve and protect our wildlife and wildlife areas: our park rangers. Our community is served by both Chief Joe Losorelli and his team of rangers. Losorelli is a thirty-five year veteran of the LAPD, retiring from the LAPD in 2019. Upon retirement from the LAPD, Losorelli was sworn-in as Chief Park Ranger. Thank you to all of those that serve in the many public areas throughout both our city and county. It is always cool to see the day-to-day of various departments that serve
ARTS
🏆️ The 2023 Emmy Awards have been postponed: …until 2024 due to the ongoing strikes by writers and actors, who are demanding fair compensation and protection from AI. HBO’s Succession leads the nominations with twenty-seven nods, followed by Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso with twenty-one. The ceremony, which was set to air on Fox on September 18th, will now take place at the Peacock Theater in January 2024 if the labor issues are resolved by then. Otherwise, we might see a repeat of 1980, when only one actor showed up to accept his award. Or worse, a virtual Emmys like last year. Let’s hope the TV Academy can pull off a succession plan before it’s too late.
🖼️ New underground art that’s Metro: If you’re looking for some underground art, hop on the new Regional Connector metro line in Downtown LA. The three new stations are like mini-museums, featuring eight stunning artworks by local and national artists. You’ll see colorful murals, glowing sculptures, and even a cosmic snapshot of the Andromeda galaxy. The artworks celebrate the diversity, history, and culture of LA’s vibrant neighborhoods
