• Takagi Coffee, one of Japan’s top soufflé pancake cafés, has officially opened its first U.S. location in Los Angeles. Known for their sky-high, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes made with whipped egg whites, the café also serves specialty coffee, Okinawan teas, and savory Japanese dishes like omurice and chicken nanban. The soufflé pancakes, available for dine-in only, come with classic toppings like whipped cream, fresh fruit, and adzuki beans.

KOREATOWN 🥖 KOREATOWN

• Out of Ordi, the Korean salt bread pop-up that went viral last year, is opening its first brick-and-mortar in Koreatown at 8th and Oxford. Co-owners Gemma Lee and Luis Kim, who started baking from home, announced the move to Oxford Center Plaza, with an expected opening next month. Known for buttery, crusty rolls in flavors like Corn Crème and Pistachio Bomb, the new shop will offer its signature breads individually or in box combos. VENICE 🍨 AWAN

• Awan, known for its coconut-based ice creams in flavors like Balinese vanilla bean, blood orange, and black sesame cherry chocolate chip, is expanding to Venice. The new location is situated behind the upcoming Dayglow coffee shop at the corner of Rose and Rennie. Awan currently operates in West Hollywood and Larchmont, with another branch planned for N Spring St. in Chinatown.

KOREATOWN 🦀 GEBANG SIKDANG

• Seoul-based ganjang gejang specialist KOREATOWN, known for its soy-marinated crab, is opening a permanent location in Koreatown. Originally a pop-up at the former Hibi space, the success of the limited-run concept led to the decision for a permanent LA outpost. The restaurant focuses exclusively on female blue crabs for rich, flavorful roe, offering a set meal with crab, rice, soup, and banchan. Following a brief closure for interior updates, the expanded menu will include LA-exclusive dishes like spicy marinated and charcoal-grilled crab.

• Starting next Monday (17th), Wilshire Blvd will fully close for three weeks between Crescent Drive + El Camino Drive for Metro’s Wilshire/Rodeo Station deck removal and street restoration. Beverly Hills approved this alternative plan to speed up construction. Pedestrian access will remain open, commercial driveways will stay accessible, and bus stops will be relocated.

• Millennium Partners Los Angeles has submitted plans for The Eastern, a 34-story residential tower on Wilshire Blvd., set to be one of Beverly Hills’ tallest. Designed by Handel Architects with Rios, the project includes 249 condos—22 designated affordable—plus 10,600 square feet of commercial space and 473 parking spots. Positioned near Metro’s upcoming Purple Line extension, Millennium is leveraging density bonuses to push for extra height, aiming to bring fresh energy to the city's east side with a mixed-use, transit-oriented development.

BEVERLY HILLS 🏡 LUXURY COMMUNITY

• Palma, a 46-unit luxury apartment community managed by Sentral, is set to welcome residents this spring at 350 N. Palm Dr. The Class A development offers one- and two-bedroom units, some furnished, with full-service perks like housekeeping, pet care, personal training, and an executive chauffeur. Amenities focus on wellness, featuring infrared saunas, a meditation room, rooftop cold plunges, and Erewhon and Dorsia memberships. On-site events will be curated by a dedicated lifestyle manager. Represented by The Agency and Sotheby’s, Palma joins Sentral’s growing L.A. portfolio.

ARTS DISTRICT 🎞️ STUDIO CAMPUS

• Prologis has proposed a 364,000-square-foot studio complex at a former Greyhound terminal in the Arts District. Designed by SOM, the proposed project includes nine soundstages, office space, and amenities like a cafe and skyline terraces. Once considered for a logistics hub, the site now joins other major studio developments along the Alameda corridor. Construction is set for 2027–2029.

• Beta Technologies' CX300 made history Saturday with the first all-electric coast-to-coast flight, touching down in Santa Monica after a 22-day, 2,900-mile journey from Vermont. HOLLYWOOD BOWL 🎻 FREE CONCERT

• The L.A. Philharmonic’s ‘We Love L.A.’ concert on April 1st will honor first responders from January’s wildfires with a free event at the Hollywood Bowl. Led by Gustavo Dudamel, the program includes John Williams' ‘Superman March,’ along with works by Gabriela Ortiz, Mahler, Gershwin, and more. The Palisades Charter High School Band will open with the National Anthem. The concert starts at 8:00pm and free tickets will be available starting March 17th for those impacted by the fires.

NETFLIX 🎤 KILL TONY

• Tony Hinchcliffe's Kill Tony will debut three exclusive specials on Netflix, starting April 7th. Filmed at the Comedy Mothership in Austin, the show features a mix of seasoned and aspiring comedians offering unfiltered feedback. Surprise celebrity guests will also appear. Hinchcliffe will also release a one-hour stand-up special, with additional details to follow.

• On March 27th, the Spotter Showcase in New York will bring major YouTube creators like MrBeast, Dude Perfect, Ryan Trahan, and more together to showcase their content, audience data, and upcoming projects to over 150 CMOs. RAMS 🐏 COOPER KUPP

• The Rams plan to release wide receiver Cooper Kupp if they cannot find a trade partner today, per sources. This comes after the Rams signed six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams to a two-year deal. Kupp, who voiced his displeasure with the trade request in February, could save the Rams $20m toward the 2025 salary cap if dealt post-June 1st. However, cutting him this offseason would save $15m in cash and $7.52m in cap space. Kupp, a key player in the Rams' offense, has been with the team since 2017 and earned Super Bowl MVP honors in 2022.

DODGERS 🧢 DAVE ROBERTS

• The Dodgers have signed manager Dave Roberts to a historic $32.4m contract extension, making him the highest-paid manager in MLB.
