🤲Long Beach Salvation Army models sobriety and life for others: The Long Beach Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is a six-month program designed to help men recover from drug or alcohol addiction. 🏡 Neighborhood Councils and how they work: Neighborhood councils in Los Angeles are the most local and accessible form of government, but many people don't know they exist. They organize street cleanups, weigh in on legislation, and call our community officials when needed. Anyone can get involved in their local council, especially now that meetings are virtual. While councils can get dramatic, they're a way to make a difference in your community and can be a springboard to higher office. Neighborhood councils are advisory groups that give residents a greater voice in City Hall, and there are 99 of them representing almost every part of our beautiful city

Yesterday, we asked: In what century was the first valentine sent?

The answer: The 18th century

The first Valentine's cards were sent in the 18th century. Initially these were handmade efforts, as pre-made cards were not yet available. Lovers would decorate paper with romantic symbols including flowers and love knots, often including puzzles and lines of poetry.

Today’s question: How many people visit Los Angeles County yearly?

  1. 125 million

  2. 100 million

  3. 50 million

  4. 20 million

We will have the answer in tomorrow’s newsletter.
