• 💪 MLK VOLUNTEER FESTIVAL: Come join the largest volunteer event in Los Angeles on Monday, January 15th: MLK Volunteer Festival at the LA Coliseum. Activities include: guest speakers, live music, food trucks, impact projects and much more!

• 🚇️ FREE METRO RIDES: LA Metro will provide free rides on rail, bus, micro and bicycles for certain dates and times over the holidays

• 💼 MINIMUM WAGE: The State of California will raise minimum wage to $16 next year for our state. For fast food employees, the minimum wage will become $20

• 🧑‍⚖️ BURBANK: The City of Burbank welcomes a new mayor, Nick Schultz, who previously served as Burbank’s vice-mayor this past year

DEVELOPMENT

• 🎬️ HOLLYWOOD: The City Planning Commission has signed off on the construction of a new tower located on Vine Street. The tower will serve as either offices or apartments

• 🎞️ HOLLYWOOD II: Plans for a ten-story building with 137,000 sqft of office space + 13,600 sqft of ground-floor shops + restaurants on North Seward Street has been approved

• 🎡 SANTA MONICA: City Council has provided the green light for the project + plan that will replace Douglas Park. The plan includes accessibility, safe + open spaces and more

• 🏥 GENERAL HOSPITAL: A 1.68m sqft redevelopment planned around the historic General Hospital Building
