Underwood Family Farms is a family-owned and operated farm that has been in Ventura County, California, for over forty years. The farm offers a variety of fresh produce, educational programs, and fun activities for visitors of all ages.

The history of Underwood Family Farms dates back to 1867, when the Underwood family began farming in Ventura County. The farm was originally located in Somis, where it grew crops such as lemons, avocados, and strawberries. In 1980, the farm opened its first farm stand in Moorpark, where it sold its produce directly to the public.

In 1998, the farm expanded to a second location in Somis, where it started its popular Pick Your Own program. Visitors could harvest their own fruits and vegetables from the fields, such as corn, tomatoes, peppers, and pumpkins. The farm also began hosting seasonal festivals, such as the Fall Harvest Festival and the Springtime Easter Festival.

In 2000, the farm added another attraction: the Animal Center. The Animal Center features a petting zoo, animal shows, pony rides, and a cow train. The farm also offers educational field trips and birthday parties for children, where they can learn about farming and animals.

Today, Underwood Family Farms is one of the most popular destinations in Ventura County for families and tourists. The farm grows over 60 different crops throughout the year, and sells them at its two farm stands and at farmers markets across Southern California. The farm also continues to provide entertainment and learning opportunities for visitors of all ages, with its Pick Your Own program, festivals, animal center, and other activities that are listed below.

  • Starting November 5th, closes at 5:00pm

• Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas + New Year’s

Vibe:

An ideal location for family-fun, but leave the toddlers at home (with somebody responsible), as the rocky terrains at Underwood Family Farms make it a bit challenging for strollers. Still ideal for first dates (unless your date needs a baby stroller), group dates, company outings, and to impress your in-laws. Underwood Family Farms also provides live music throughout the evening.
