[ 🙌 We are happy and we know it] Angelenos have another thing to smile about besides traffic on the 405. A recent report puts our metropolitan area as the third longest life expectancy amongst other major cities. The average life expectancy in Los Angeles is 82.8 years; Bridgeport, Connecticut metro received the gold medal at 83.0 years life expectancy, followed by our friends in San Francisco at 82.9. Full list and report via MonkeyGeek.[ 💰 A signed Kobe Bryant jersey could sell for $7 million] An authentic and signed jersey worn by Kobe Bryant in over 25 games will be up for auction online from February 2nd to February 9th. Sotheby's is serving as the auction house for the jersey, which is said to be valued between $5 million and $7 million. Another jersey of Bryant's sold for $3.7 million in 2021. We wish happy bidding to those interested in buying this artifact of Laker's history.[ 🪣 We gonna be drinking a lot, LA] The Public Works Department announced yesterday that we have saved 33-billion gallons of fresh stormwater from the recent downpours that have hit our area. This high-intake of water salvage is enough to supply 816,000 people with drinking water for a whole year. The Public Works Department oversees a system that includes 14 major dams, 620 miles of rivers and flood channels, and 3,400 miles of underground water drains. 

[ ✈️ Starlux's A350s are clear for takeoff] Starlux, a Taiwanese startup, will begin flying its newest aircraft, the luxurious A350, this Friday, January 20th. The A350 features suites with amenities such as 32" TVs, personal minibars, wardrobes, 42" thick suite doors, ambient lighting and more. Initially, the airline will operate regional flights starting with Bangkok, but plans to fly into US airspace later this year with LAX as the first North American destination. 

[ 🏀 LeBron has season high 48-points] LeBron James and the Lakers beat the Houston Rockets 140-132 in Los Angeles last night. James had a season-high of 48-points, along with nine assists and eight rebounds. This performance also marked the 72nd time that James has scored 40 or more points in regular season play. [ 🎨 Creativity pays in LA] The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture launched Creative Recovery LA, a grant funding program for those within the arts and creative realms that have been impacted by the pandemic. A collective total of $26 million from the American Rescue Plan will finance the grants. Those interested can apply on Creative Recovery LA's website starting tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18th.

Clippers] Paul George is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers as a hamstring injury has kept him out of the lineup for the past five games. The Clippers are coming off of a strong 21-point win against the Houston Rockets, but the 76ers can sweep Los Angeles after winning Sunday night against the Lakers. Tickets to tonight's game.

[ 👯‍♀️ 8:00pm | Pantages Theatre | $35 - $149 | Mean Girls] 'You can't cross Queen Bee without getting stung' is the theme of this Broadway play. Mean Girls is the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative time, including 30-Rock star Tina Fey and director Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin, The Book of Mormon). Mean Girls will have showings at the Pantages Theatre until Sunday, January 29th.

[ 🎬 Arts Directors Guild nominations announced] The Arts Directors Guild announced its nominations for the 27th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards yesterday. Awards will be presented amongst fourteen categories including: theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and animated features. The ceremony will be held Saturday, February 18th at the InterContinental Hotel Downtown. Coverage of the ceremony will be live streamed.
