• 🍣 LITTLE TOKYO: Chubby Cattle, a prominent yakiniku chain known for its upscale yet affordable wagyu offerings, has opened a new location in Little Tokyo on East Second Street. The restaurant features an all-you-can-eat menu with three pricing tiers ranging from $55 to $85, showcasing a variety of wagyu cuts including zabuton and A5 Miyazaki short ribs, alongside other meats, seafood, sushi, and dumplings. • 🌡️ SO HOT IN HURRR: Southern California is bracing for a record-breaking heat wave that will persist through Tuesday afternoon, with triple-digit temperatures and oppressive overnight lows. The National Weather Service warns of ‘dangerously hot conditions,’ urging residents to stay cool and hydrated as temperatures soar 15 to 25 degrees above normal. Relief is on the horizon, as cooler weather is expected to arrive by Tuesday night, bringing much-needed respite from the sweltering heat.

• 🚨 PACIFIC PALISADES: Drivers in Pacific Palisades should prepare for overnight lane reductions on Pacific Coast Highway as a repaving project kicked off on Friday night. The highway will be limited to one lane in each direction between Temescal Canyon Road and Porto Marina Way, with work continuing nightly through this upcoming Friday, September 13th. Expect speed limits to drop from 45 mph to 35 mph in the construction zone, but all lanes will reopen each morning to ease daytime traffic flow. ℹ️ | 💌 

• 🚸 SANTA MONICA: Santa Monica drivers will soon need to adjust their speeds as the City Council has approved a significant reduction in speed limits on 47 key streets, including areas near schools. This change, aimed at enhancing safety for pedestrians and cyclists, will allow motorized scooters to share the roads, with speed limits dropping from 30 to 25 mph on sixteen streets and from 35 to 25 mph on Pico Boulevard. • 🎬️ HOLLYWOOD: Hudson Pacific Properties is set to expand Sunset Las Palmas Studios, one of Hollywood's historic production facilities, with plans for four new soundstages and a 70,000 square-foot production support building on a three-acre site. This ambitious project aims to modernize the studio, which has hosted iconic productions like ‘I Love Lucy’ and ‘The Addams Family,’ by replacing existing structures and adding significant new entertainment space. The expansion aligns with Hudson Pacific's strategy to enhance its Hollywood footprint, having previously invested in Sunset Bronson and Sunset Gower Studios, and comes amid fluctuating production demands in the industry, with a long-term positive outlook as streaming services and traditional media continue to drive content creation.

• 🐸 FROGTOWN: Harridge Development Group's latest project in Frogtown is transforming the landscape along the Los Angeles River. The development, located on W. Blake Avenue, will bring one hundred small lot homes to the neighborhood. Designed by William Hezmalhalch Architects, these three-story houses will be arranged around a network of private roads, creating a new residential enclave in this evolving riverside community. • 👮 HARRY BOSCH: The third and final season of Bosch: Legacy is set to premiere in March 2025, continuing the journey of retired detective Harry Bosch, played by Titus Welliver. • 🪲 BEETLEJUICE 2: Tim Burton's much-anticipated sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has made a spectacular debut, raking in an estimated $110m across 4,575 screens, marking the biggest PG-13 September opening ever. • ⚾️ RANGERS 7, ANGELS 4: In a tough matchup, the Angels fell to the Texas Rangers 7-4 yesterday, marking another challenging day for the team. Andrew Heaney, a former Angel, finally broke his eight-start winless streak against his old club, receiving rare run support that had eluded him for much of the season. As the Angels prepare for a series against the Minnesota Twins, fans are left hoping for a turnaround as the team continues to navigate a tough season with a 59-84 record.

• 🧢 DODGERS 4, GUARDIANS 0: On a sweltering Sunday at Dodger Stadium, where temperatures soared to a record-tying 103 degrees, Shohei Ohtani launched his 46th home run of the season, matching his career high and helping the Dodgers secure a 4-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Ohtani's impressive 450-foot blast not only showcased his power but also brought him closer to making history with a potential 50-50 season, as he currently stands with 46 home runs and 46 stolen bases.
