LONG BEACH 🥩 SKY ROOM

• Perched atop the Fairmont Breakers, the Sky Room has reopened after a five-year, $150m restoration, blending Old Hollywood glamour with contemporary fine dining. Originally established in 1938 by Conrad Hilton, the landmark space has hosted icons like Rita Hayworth and Cary Grant. Now, executive chef Jared Reeves and chef de cuisine Max Pfeiffer reinterpret its legacy with a refined menu featuring hiramasa crudo, Iberian pork presa, and a classic beef Wellington. With panoramic views stretching from Downtown LA to Catalina Island, the Sky Room is no longer just for special occasions—it’s a destination where history meets modern indulgence.

• Urbane Cafe, the Ventura-based sandwich and salad spot, held it’s grand opening at Long Beach Exchange this past Friday with a lineup of grand opening perks. Loyalty members who order online through Thursday get an extra freebie. Long Beach City College students can also claim a free sandwich, salad, or bowl tomorrow (Tuesday). • Expect one more sunny and warm day today with temperatures in the 70s, before a series of storms bring cooler, wetter conditions. Light showers will begin late Monday night, with heavier rain and mountain snow arriving Wednesday into Thursday. The second storm could bring up to 4 inches of rain in some areas, and snow levels will drop dramatically by Thursday, impacting higher elevations like the Grapevine. 605 FREEWAY 🚨 NIGHTLY CLOSURES

• Caltrans is closing up to four lanes on the 605 Freeway between Cerritos and Irwindale nightly, today - Friday, affecting key interchanges, including the 10 and 60 freeways. Ramp closures impact Ramona Blvd., Lower Azusa Rd., Live Oak Ave., and Huntington Dr. The southbound 605 left-turn lane to Arrow Highway is closed until April 18th.

BEVERLY HILLS 💎 CARTIER’S TEMPLE

• The Beverly Hills Planning Commission approved a three-story Cartier retail and office space at Rodeo Drive and Brighton Way, dubbed a ‘Cartier Temple’ by brand executives. Designed by Foster + Partners, the long-delayed project faced seismic testing and pandemic-related setbacks but is now set for an August construction start, targeting completion by late 2027.

SILVER LAKE 🏡 VENDOME SIX

• A 1930s single-family home on N. Vendome Street is making way for Vendome Six, a modern infill housing project by Development House. The project features two duplexes, each with an attached ADU, creating six two-bedroom, two-bath homes at approximately 1,100 square feet. Designed by Yu2e Inc., the three-story structures showcase a mix of white, blue, and teal exteriors. Located near CIM Group’s Dillon apartments and a 2020 small-lot home development, Vendome Six continues the area’s residential transformation. Completion is expected in early 2026.

LONG BEACH 🛝 WEST LB PLAYGROUND

• Long Beach officials broke ground on the Silverado Park Signature Playground Project, a key step in revitalizing West Long Beach through the city’s Elevate ‘28 initiative. Inspired by Mer Young’s We Are The Seeds mural, the playground will feature sensory, physical, and imaginative play equipment designed for accessibility and community engagement.
