[⛳️ Tiger Woods commits to playing Riviera this week] Tiger Woods is back, returning to the golf course at this week's Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club. This will be the first time Tiger has competed since missing the cut at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in July of last year. This PGA Tour event is hosted by Tiger and benefits his foundation, the TGR Foundation. This week's tournament is packed with star power: 23 of the top 25 ranked players in the world, as ranked by the Official World Golf Rankings, will be in attendance. Tiger has fond memories playing at Riviera: in 1992, Tiger made his PGA TOUR debut as a then-amateur. ‘I'm ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week @thegenesisinv,’ Tiger said on Twitter

[🙈 Valentines Day: take out, snuggle-in] Tomorrow, Annie, you're only a day away. And for those of us that do not have dinner reservations for tomorrow’s romantic night, or want to be as snug as a bug with yours over a movie, then Patch has you covered. The fine folks at Patch have listed over thirty restaurants that will have both amazing and affordable takeout specials. Side note: I am free tomorrow night, and can be a good wingman in exchange for good food

[🎒George Clooney is the Co-Founder of a National Model Public School Program] George Clooney is known for his many achievements as an actor, director, writer, producer, and activist. Now, he can add co-founder of a public school program to the list. Clooney and a team of celebrities, including Don Cheadle and Mindy Kaling, established the Roybal Film and TV production magnet school at the Edward R. Roybal Learning Center in 2022. The program is designed to train students in "below the line" Hollywood production jobs, and to increase diversity in the industry. The magnet school is funded via public and private partnerships, and students are selected through a lottery system. It has already been lauded by the US Secretary of Education and the Second Gentleman of the US.

[🧑‍🍳 Eating the best Los Angeles grub] This is pretty neat, Eater: Los Angeles posted Best Dishes Editors Ate This Week. It is curations of goodness from a team of foodies that know LA grub best. Various restaurants, and dishes, are listed and go back as late to December 2022. Think about that: getting paid to eat. Gonna put my two-weeks in, ya’ll have fun with the GIFs that Garrett’s Mom posts. #weatherchannel

Monday, we asked: Who was the first star to receive a star on the Walk of Fame?

The answer: Joanne Woodward was the first individual to receive a star on February 9th, 1960.

Woodward was born in Thomasville, Georgia, and went to school in Greenville, South Carolina, with Greenville being the same city as CuratedLA’s Founder (shoutout, GVL!) birthplace. Woodward performed at Greenville’s Little Theatre while attending nearby Greenville High School. Upon graduating from Greenville High School, Woodward studied at Louisiana State University. After college, Woodward made way to NYC, and then found fame in a variety of roles, including The Three Faces of Eve and Do You Remember Love? Woodward was married to the late Paul Newman until his death in 2008. Woodward is still alive today at the age of 92.

Today’s question: The opening scene of which 1992 movie by Quentin Tarantino includes eight men eating breakfast in a Los Angeles diner discussing the Madonna song, Like a Virgin?

  1. Pulp Fiction

  2. Reservoir Dogs

  3. From Dusk till Dawn

  4. Natural Born Killers

We will have the answer in tomorrow’s newsletter

[💎 Rhianna shines bright like a pregnant diamond] Rihanna made her triumphant return to the stage at Super Bowl LVII’s Halftime Show last night, crushing it with a tour de force solo set of hits. She pushed the slot to new technological and Olympian heights, even showcasing that baby bump, and brought the joint to life with her legendary swagger. With a pre-recorded chat with NFL analyst Michael Strahan, and a twelve-song setlist, Rihanna pulled off an impressive feat and made last night even bigger. Her performance was a nod to hip-hop's 50th anniversary, and a reminder of her unwavering commitment to blacklisted QB Colin Kaepernick, which she showed when she turned down the halftime slot in 2019. Rihanna and her legion of white-hooded dancers wowed the crowd, proving that she is still the Queen of the show, and soon-to-be Queen Mama…

[😊Bill Maher likes people] We truly don’t know what the general perception of Bill Maher is because Garrett's Mom doesn't want us to watch the show. But she did tell us that Maher had an interesting viewpoint for both men and women alike, one that we are all for at CuratedLA. That is: humanize one another, put down the phone during a date, communicate by reading body-language, and take time to put thoughts into conversation without getting distracted. Gotta run, Garrett's Mom is taking us all to McDonalds

[📺️ A lot of commercials last night…] Last night was probably the best curations of Super Bowl commercials that we have seen in a long time. Not only were the commercials filled with candids from big stars, and star reunions, but the commercials actually made me, Garrett, and Garrett’s Mom laugh. So, let’s revisit and laugh again
