As seen during Tesla’s Investor Day

[ 🏎️ A restaurant with 24/7 energy] Last year, Tesla snagged the Hollywood land that once housed Sharkey's Pizzeria for a cool $16 million. Why? To bring Elon's five-year-old dream of a 24/7 charge and dine spot to life. But since then, we've heard little electric buzz on this rumor mill...until now. During Tesla's recent Investor Day, a slide labeled "Do Forget To Do Cool S***" revealed a retro Tesla Diner, a rooftop patio, and an old-school drive-in movie screen. In the mockup, people were lined up to get inside, hinting that this was more than just a charging station. And guess what? Tesla has submitted plans for the Tesla Supercharger Diner & Drive-In, a 24-hour charging station in LA that will surely be a unique and enjoyable experience for all. Details are still under wraps, but we're charged up with excitement for what's to come! Stay tuned for more electrifying updates…

[🏡 Downey is heating up] Downey landed the 14th spot for the hottest real estate market in 2022, with a whopping 62% of homes selling above asking price. With a median sales price of $798,509 and only 33.1 days on the market, it's no surprise that only 18.3% of home listings in Downey saw a price reduction. Despite rising interest rates and concerns about inflation, Downey's real estate market remains on fire, thanks to the pandemic-induced surge in home prices and investment returns. This information comes from a report by Construction Coverage, which used data from Redfin's Data Center to create a composite score based on several metrics. Only cities with at least 100,000 residents were included in the report

[💼 Your past doesn’t need to define you] Angelenos with old criminal records can permanently seal their records under SB 731 starting July 1. The new law makes California the first state in the U.S. to allow almost all old convictions on a person's criminal record to be permanently sealed. The passing of this legislation would help remove the barriers to employment, education, and housing for millions of Californians and more than a quarter of a million Angelenos. Community organizations and coalitions such as Anti-Recidivism Coalition, Los Angeles Area Re-entry Partnership, Homeboy Industries, and TimeDone California played a significant role in this achievement

[🍔 Irv’s Burgers continues expansion] Irv’s Burgers LA has expanded beyond its original West Hollywood location, with a new spot at 1000 S La Brea Ave, and plans for more in Malibu and Las Vegas. The Malibu location will be shared with gourmet pizzeria Prince Street Pizza, and both will be near the largest playground in Southern California. Co-owner Sonia Hong's legacy is being preserved at Irv’s Burgers LA, with her doodles inspiring much of the décor. The menu has been streamlined to focus on eight items, including the famous fresh-ground beef burger, fresh buns, and a secret menu

[💪 A powerful Burbank Resident] The city proudly presented a 600-pound bronze statue of the iconic DC character, Wonder Woman, last week. Designed by Jenny Frison and crafted by Burbank’s American Fine Arts Foundry and Fabrication, the statue stands tall at seven-and-a-half-feet and took two years to complete. Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony declared Wonder Woman as a symbol of justice and invites everyone to witness the Warrior for Peace in person as she overlooks Warner Bros. Studios. This isn't the first time the city has honored a DC hero: a Batman statue already stands at the AMC Walkway of Downtown Burbank. To commemorate the occasion, Visit Burbank partnered with DC Comics to offer limited editions of Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace comic book written by local resident Amanda Diebert through a social media sweepstake

[📶 Boom, boom boom, lemme hear you say WeHo, WiFi] West Hollywood now offers free outdoor public Wi-Fi along Santa Monica Boulevard, thanks to the WeHo Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi access points located at traffic light intersections and transit shelters along the boulevard provide robust Wi-Fi coverage to residents, businesses, visitors, and city staff. The network is also available at West Hollywood Park and the Plummer Park Community Center. The City believes that providing free outdoor public Wi-Fi is an essential service that can significantly improve the lives of those who live, work, and visit the area

[⚡️A Blast from the Past] Alicia Silverstone is open to a Blast From the Past sequel with Brendan Fraser, 24 years after the original. The idea was discussed during a Clueless reunion panel at '90s Con. Fraser recently won an Oscar for his role in The Whale. The 1999 romantic comedy followed Fraser's character, who emerges from a fallout shelter built by his father (Christopher Walken) and falls in love with Silverstone's character, Eve.

[💃 Swift meets Swift City] Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour this weekend, attracting around 70,000 fans to Swift City, with some even designating the location a place of worship on Google Maps. Swifties from across the country came dressed in her iconic costumes from her 10 albums, including Lover-era pastels, rhinestone-adorned bodysuits from Bejeweled, and sexy baby t-shirts from Anti-Hero. With an extensive 44-song setlist, Swift packed in more than many TikTok speculators thought possible into one show, with almost no breaks and seemingly endless stamina. The production was more like a Broadway show than a concert, with multiple set changes and a phalanx of backup dancers, providing each area of the floor with ample chances to photograph the singer.
