The eatery’s grand opening takes place on Saturday, February 9th.

COMMUNITY

  • ☔️ WEATHER TIPS: Please be aware of the important information below as we are seeing heavy rains. The information is from various government sources and could play a crucial role in keeping you + loved ones safe. Reminder: register with L.A.’s City Emergency Alert System, NotifyLA and follow NotifyLA on X.

    • 🛑 DRIVING

    • Anticipate closures and delays. Give yourself enough time to travel and plan alternate routes.

    • Turn around, don’t drown! Never attempt to drive or walk through a flooded walkway, roadway, or flooding stream. Six inches of water can knock over an adult.

    • If floodwaters rise around your car but the water is not moving, abandon the car and move to higher ground if you can do so safely. Do not leave the car if it means that you will go into moving water.

    • Slow down! Roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks can be slippery when wet.

    • Bad weather can cause poor visibility. Use headlights or bike lights, and wear bright-colored clothing.

    • Report downed trees, flooding, mudslides, or other road hazards by calling 3-1-1.

    • ⚡️ PLANNING

    • Keep emergency supplies, such as a flashlight, water, food, a first-aid kit, portable radio, and extra batteries on-hand and easily accessible.

    • Clear all drains and rain gutters on your property, and dispose of all trash and yard trimmings properly to avoid blocking drains.

    • Know how to turn off utilities.

    • Monitor forecasts to be aware of weather that may impact your area.

    • Keep essential devices, like cell phones and other crucial electronics charged.

  • 🍔 L.A. RESTAURANTS: The City of Los Angeles and other local regulatory bodies are allowing restaurants to apply for permanent al fresco permits. With approval, these permits would allow for restaurants to serve their patrons on sidewalks, parking lots and streets. Here is what we need to know.

  • 💸 FREE SANDBAGS: West Hollywood Residents + Business Owners are able to receive free sandbags courtesy of the City of West Hollywood. With the amount of rainfall and stormy weather that we are receiving, sandbags can play a crucial role for both residents and businesses as they help direct street water flow.

DEVELOPMENT

  • 🏨 VENICE: The Venice Place Project is making headway after receiving approval from the California Coastal Commission last month. The project, developed by ReThink Development, will feature a new boutique hotel with an expanded courtyard, spa, eateries, shops and creative offices spaces. To be located on the north end of Abbot Kinney, the hotel will be thirty-feet tall and will also include 78-hotel rooms, four apartments, a rooftop garden, pool deck, and will also serve those seeking bike and surf rentals. Though this project is in the first phase of post-approval development, it is a talked-about one throughout Venice and will be an exciting one for us to watch and keep everyone updated on.
