CHINATOWN š GOLDEN DRAGON PARADE
SATURDAY: The 126th Annual Golden Dragon Parade, a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year, will take place this Saturday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in Los Angeles' Chinatown Central Plaza at 950 N. Broadway. This historic event, postponed from its usual date due to January fires, marks the Year of the Snake and is one of L.A.'s oldest traditions. BURBANK š« EAST OLIVE
The City of Burbank will begin the East Olive Reconfiguration Restriping Project this upcoming Monday - Thursday, adjusting lane striping on Olive Avenue between Glenoaks Blvd. and Sunset Canyon Dr. to enhance safety and better integrate with the residential area. The project will widen on-street parking spaces while slightly narrowing the center turn lane, maintaining the same number and width of travel lanes. Work will occur from 7:00am to 4:00pm, with temporary lane closures and shifts expected. š

LA 2028 š KENDRICK LAMAR
Kendrick Lamar is now rumored to play a major role in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Casey Wasserman, chairman of LA28, hinted at Lamarās involvement, calling him an āLA iconā and a likely choice for the eventās opening ceremony. ACADEMY šļø STUDENT AWARDS
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is now accepting entries for the 2025 Student Academy Awards, with a submission deadline of May 18th. MALIBU š¹ SKATE PARK
Malibu is set to begin construction on a permanent 12,500-square-foot skate park on Pacific Coast Hwy, replacing its temporary facility. Approved with a $4.1m budget, the parkādesigned by California Skateparks with community inputāwill feature stairs, rails, a flow bowl, quarter pipes, and more to accommodate all skill levels. Built by C.S. Legacy Construction, Inc., it aims to foster a healthy, active community while embracing Malibuās skate culture. Completion is expected by fall 2025, with a park name to be determined in the coming months.

CULVER CITY š APPLE CAMPUS
Tower cranes now mark the rise of Appleās new office campus on Venice Blvd, straddling the Los Angeles-Culver City border. Designed by Gensler, the project features two interconnected buildings totaling 536,000 square feet of office and production space, with 58,000 square feet of open areas, including a central courtyard and landscaped promenades. The phased construction plan prioritizes the Los Angeles side first, followed by Culver City.
