🍵 Warm soup. Good soup: As we’ve mentioned, golden hour could be taking a back seat this weekend to make way for winter hours. But don't worry if it does as Eater: Los Angeles has curated a delicious list of the nineteen best soup restaurants to lift our spirits. This hot and steamy lineup includes Carnival Restaurant's Lebanese lentil soup, Dai Ho Restaurant's spicy beef noodle soup, Natas Pastries' Portuguese caldo verde, Lemon Poppy Kitchen's chicken paprikash, and boat noodles at Sapp Coffee Shop. Other food-comfort hubs serving satisfying warm soups also include Tam’s Noodle House and Bone Kettle

🗒️ Help Culver City with a simple survey: Move Culver City is about expanding transportation options around Culver City. The project created dedicated transit lanes and bicycle lanes, sidewalk and curb extensions, and asphalt art along Culver and Washington Boulevards from La Cienega to Duquesne Avenue in late 2021. We ask our audience at CuratedLA to help provide Culver City with data by completing the survey linked below, which will be active until March 12th, 2023, to see how the project has impacted Culver City transit

🚴 CicLAvia is here. It’s finally here!: The CicLAvia season starts this Sunday in the San Fernando Valley with a five-mile route that will traverse parts of Reseda and Canoga Park along Sherman Way between Lindley and Shoup avenues. The event provides a safe space for people to rediscover their communities and connect with neighbors, while hub zones along the way offer games, giveaways and food trucks. CicLAvia’s primary goal is to encourage Southern Californians to explore new neighborhoods, and there are several stop-worthy landmarks along the way, including a vintage sign in Reseda, a private Victorian office building, and the Madrid Theater, a classic cinema house

🏀 Lakers beat Warriors, 124 - 111: The Lakers are making moves to secure a spot in the playoffs with the help of their new supporting cast. Malik Beasley scored 25 points and led the way for the team with a season-best 68 points from their reserves. Even though LeBron James and Anthony Davis had a quiet night, the Lakers showed their depth with eight players in double figures. The defending champions, Golden State Warriors, couldn't keep up with the Lakers' sharp shooting from beyond the arc, and fell to tenth place in the Western Conference. With the Lakers only 1.5 games out of a spot in the play-in tournament, the team is feeling optimistic about making a run

[Reminder] 📚️ DYK: Our Libraries offer free income tax preparation and filing?: Our Los Angeles Library System offers a variety of options for those that wish to take advantage of free assistance, from the smart bookworms that know best! These options include in-person tax help, online tax help, resources for tax disputes, and more

Yesterday, we asked: What directionally-named former Los Angeles Lakers player is the silhouetted player in the NBA logo?

The answer: Jerry West

Today’s question: The Ferris Wheel at the Santa Monica Pier is not only Instaworthy, but it is the first and only _______ ferris wheel.

  1. nonstop, 24/7

  2. solar powered

  3. hurricane proof

  4. sand proof

We will have the answer in Monday’s newsletter.

🙏 We owe Woody Harrelson an apology: Our fingers are stuttering and Garrett is sweating, because we owe you an apology, Mr. Harrelson. We informed our CuratedLA readers that you were hosting SNL last weekend, but in reality, you are hosting it tomorrow night. Can we keep our cool? We are sorry and believe that you will do an outstanding job with musical guest Jack White. What's more, we are aware that this will be your fifth time hosting SNL, making you a member of the Five-Timer's Club, and the twenty-fifth person to host SNL five or more times. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement. And we promise, we will never mislead your fans again.

🏰 One does not simply walk into Mordor: Warner Bros. and New Line have struck a deal with Embracer Group AB that allows them to develop more movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit. Embracer Group, which acquired the rights to produce LOTR films, games, merchandise, theme park attractions, and live productions last year, aims to honor the past while looking to the future with the help of New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures. The deal marks a return for Warner Bros. to the franchise game, harking back to its glory days when the studio was minting money with Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy

🎞️ That feeling when the Oscars are around the corner Producers Guild of America will host their 34th annual PGA Awards at the Beverly Hilton tomorrow night. Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Robert Rodriguez are just a few of the notable names who will take the stage to honor this year's top producing talent. The PGA is a known reliable indicator of which film will win the Best Picture category at the Oscars, as the PGA Awards have nominated some of the year's most anticipated films, including Top Gun: Maverick and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

🐻 Cocaine Bear, now in theaters everywhere: Fran Wiley, the first female special agent in charge of North Georgia's Georgia Bureau of Investigation drug office, recently spoke about the infamous 1980s case of the bear that overdosed on cocaine in Chattahoochee National Forest. The case has resurfaced with the release of a new movie directed by Elizabeth Banks that tells the story of the bear's overdose. Wiley was instrumental in investigating the incident and collecting the bear's body, which she took to the Atlanta crime lab. She explains that the bear consumed around three or four grams of pure cocaine and that the drugs had been dropped by a plane smuggling hundreds of pounds of the drug from South America

✍️ We’ve been struck with excitement for this upcoming podcast: Dr. Elizabeth Rovere, PsyD, launches Wonderstruck, a first of its kind podcast that examines the wonder of being, of consciousness, and the extraordinary. A clinical psychologist, yoga teacher, Harvard Divinity School graduate, and seeker, Rovere will explore experiences of awe, and wonder through thoughtful conversations with experts and experiencers, including shamans and scientists, academics and artists. A 3-2-3 from us at CuratedLA

Starting in March, CuratedLA will be investing both time and resources to curate Los Angeles how-tos, guides, more stories from our neighbors, and original content that we find unique.

Additionally, we will start to utilize social media heavily this summer, partnering with both local outlets, and brands.

But for us to achieve this, we will need your help.

We simply ask that you respond to this email with what type of content that you would like to see. Though, yes, we do have content in-mind, this is a community-driven project.

So, let us know what you’d like to see. Anything works.

Besides OnlyFans content.
