BEACH WARNINGS š Three Beaches Have High Bacteria:
Officials are urging the public to steer clear of several Los Angeles County beaches due to high bacteria levels detected in the ocean water. This warning, effective until further notice, highlights the risk of illness, particularly for children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Contamination is linked to runoff from city streets and storm drains. Affected areas include Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey, the Santa Monica Pier, Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, and several spots along Manhattan and Hermosa Beach piers, among others. Swimming, surfing, and beach activities are strongly discouraged until advisories are lifted, which will occur once water quality meets state standards. For the latest updates, visit the L.A. WESTWOOD š” New Multi-Family Housing Development on Ohio Avenue:
A new six-story residential apartment building is nearing completion at 10939 West Ohio Avenue in Westwood, Los Angeles. Developed by Brennen Hakimian and designed by Warren Techentin Architecture, the project will feature 18 apartments, including a mix of studios and one- to five-bedroom units. The design incorporates smooth stucco and mint green perforated metal panels, creating a modern aesthetic. The development utilizes Transit Oriented Communities incentives, allowing for a larger building with reduced parking requirements while committing to reserve three units for extremely low-income households. Situated at the intersection with Veteran Avenue, this project aims to enhance local housing options while supporting community needs.
BALDWIN HILLS š¢ New Production + Creativity Studio Proposed:

Key features comprise a three-story building with 24,000 square feet of office space and 11,500 square feet for restaurants, alongside a six-story structure housing 88,000 square feet of offices and a rooftop restaurant. The campus will also feature additional soundstages, a mill shop, and a five-story parking structure with a community room. Designed by HOK, the building will incorporate contemporary elements with angled volumes and materials suited for a laser laboratory while echoing the architectural rhythms of adjacent historic structures, particularly Linde Hall. Announced by Caltech in early 2022, the center aims to advance tools and concepts in quantum measurement that could revolutionize various scientific and technological fields. The project is slated for completion in 2026, joining recent additions like the Resnick Sustainability Center.

The companyās subscription services also grew 11%, totaling $11.3bn. With CEO Andy Jassy noting strong early holiday sales and promotions, Amazon appears well-positioned for a robust Q4. SQUID GAME š¦ The Game Returns:
Netflix has set the stage for the return of āSquid Gameā with a teaser that has fans buzzing for more. COMCAST š¦ Comcastās Big Split: The Next Chapter in Streaming Wars:
In a decisive Q3 earnings call, Comcast announced plans to potentially spin off its cable networks into a separate entity and hinted at a streaming collaboration with Paramount. These moves signal that Comcast is actively safeguarding its most profitable assetsābroadband, NBC broadcast, Peacock, Universal Studios, and theme parksāwhile letting the shrinking cable networks (USA, Bravo, MSNBC) stand alone. The shift comes as cable subscriptions plummet, with another 365,000 subscribers leaving this quarter, dropping the customer base to 12.83 million. Comcastās streaming platform Peacock, despite gaining 36 million subscribers, continues to post significant losses, even after recent price hikes. With whispers of a Paramount collaboration, Comcast seems poised to mirror the Hulu model to strengthen its streaming footprint. The media landscape is clearly pivoting away from traditional cable, with Comcastās moves likely igniting a transformation across the industry as more companies look to reconfigure for a streaming-dominant future.
IMAX šļø IMAXās Blockbuster Boom Amid a Fading Box Office:
While the 2024 box office is down 11.4% from last year and still lags behind pre-pandemic numbers, IMAX is defying the odds. In its Q3 earnings report, IMAX projected a record-breaking $1.2bn in ticket sales for 2025, betting big on experiences only the big screen can deliver. Expanding globally with new partnerships in Australia, France, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, IMAX has a stacked lineup ahead with films like Captain America: Brave New World, Mission: Impossible 8, Avatar 3, and The Batman sequel. Even Netflix may join in, with Greta Gerwig's Narnia remake rumored for an IMAX release. CEO Rich Gelfond emphasizes a simple truth: audiences craveāand will pay forāepic experiences they canāt recreate at home.
JON STEWART šŗšø Stewart Extends āThe Daily Showā Run Until 2025:
Jon Stewart has confirmed heāll be sticking around the āThe Daily Showā through 2025, anchoring the satirical news show every Monday. Stewartās return earlier this year has already boosted ratings to their highest since 2018, and his extended deal cements him as a weekly staple alongside the rotating cast, which includes Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic, and Michael Kosta. Stewartās comedic insight into political and cultural issues brings fresh energy to the show, and Comedy Central plans a live election night special for this upcoming Tuesday.
GAME OF THRONES š GOT Movie in the Works at Warner Bros:
Warner Bros. is quietly developing a Game of Thrones film, signaling a cinematic future for George R.R. Martinās famed fantasy world. While still in early stagesāwith no cast, writer, or director attachedāthe project reflects a growing trend at Warner Bros. and HBO to merge popular TV and film universes. Since the end of the original series in 2019, multiple prequels have hit screens, including House of the Dragon, with more planned, such as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. With Warner Bros. embracing genre-crossing strategies that bring established properties to both TV and theaters, it seems Westeros might soon conquer cinemas as well.

USC AT WASHINGTON š Trojans Take on Huskies for Bowl Eligibility:
The USC Trojans and Washington Huskies meet in Seattle tomorrow for a high-stakes Big Ten matchup, with both teams eyeing a .500 record and a bowl game berth. USC enters off a dominant 42-20 win over Rutgers, snapping a three-game losing streak. While USC has struggled on the road, theyāll look to leverage consistency with no cross-country travel disruptions this week. Meanwhile, Washington returns to Husky Stadium after a tough stretch, aiming to continue their 4-0 home streak. Kickoff is tomorrow at 4:30pm on Big Ten Network.
UCLA AT NEBRASKA š Cornhuskers and Bruins Collide in Big Ten Gauntlet:
Nebraskaās impressive 5-3 start, punctuated by their stout eighth-ranked defense and pressure-driven style, sets them up as formidable Big Ten competitors, fueled by freshman QB Dylan Raiolaās gritty performances. With a 46% pressure rateāthe nationās bestātheyāll look to overcome UCLA, whose first Big Ten season has been an uphill battle at 2-5, including narrow losses and a recent, hard-fought win over Rutgers. The Bruins defense shines in limiting big plays, but a 69% completion rate against could spell trouble against Nebraskaās strategic pace. Expect a slow grind with betting lines showing Nebraska favored at -6.5, and a potential defensive showdown with an over/under of 39.5. Catch the game on BTN tomorrow at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
RAMS AT SEAHAWKS š A Crucial NFC West Showdown:
This Sunday, the LA Rams head to Seattle's Lumen Field for a pivotal NFC West clash against the Seahawks, with both teams vying for a playoff spot amid a muddled division. Seattle sits tied for the lead at 4-4, while the Rams trail just half a game behind after winning their last two. Despite Geno Smith leading the league in passing yards, the Seahawks have struggled, losing four of their last five games, including a lopsided defeat to the Bills. The Rams, healthy and riding momentum, will look to exploit Seattle's shaky defense, which allows over 350 yards per game, particularly in the run game where they surrender 139.1 yards.
