FRIDAY

What’s up my outdoor movie people?!

Hey Curators, Garrett’s Mom again. Here’s a brief Friday edition as we head into an exciting week.

I found some gems yesterday, and thank you to those curators that submitted content. This really helps the e-newsletter thing. Ok, so I found a cute thing to do with friends, family, and even strangers: movies (in-public) outdoors!

Continue to click that Submit content button below because its fun to click on things and share with others. —Garrett’s Mom.

ON THIS DAY…

📆 August 4th:

  • 🥇In 1936, the Los Angeles Olympics came to an end, with the United States topping the medal table with 58 golds, 45 silvers and 26 bronzes. The Games were notable for the dominance of African American sprinter Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals and defied Nazi Germany’s propaganda of racial superiority.

  • 💜 In 1984, Prince’s Purple Rain album reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart and stayed there for twenty-four weeks. The album was the soundtrack to the semi-autobiographical film of the same name, which starred Prince as a young musician struggling to make it in Minneapolis. The album spawned several hit singles, including When Doves Cry, Let’s Go Crazy and Purple Rain. The album is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time and has sold over twenty-five million copies worldwide. Prince was born in Minneapolis but moved to Los Angeles in 1983 to pursue his film career
