LA OCEANS 🌊 BIOLUMINSCENT WAVES: I’m blue…if I was green I would…nahhhh—ooo—-ppppe, I can’t do that to myself, or to any of us. Sorry if that song is now stuck in your head. But I do have an idea: get out of your head and go see the bioluminescent (my second favorite word since elementary school) waves. These waves are dinoflagellate algae (obvs) that turns the ocean red during the day but glows when agitated at night. They’ve been surfing off of our coasts recently: Oxnard, Malibu, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and off of San Diego’s coastline in recent days.
