FLEX ALERT | 📣 What we need to know: Our area’s power grid has been under immense stress lately due to hot LA temperatures and because we are so good looking. Because of such, we could soon see the announcement of a flex alert. Here’s the skim:

  • We are encouraged to voluntarily reduce electricity from the hours of 4pm - 9pm; avoid major appliances, minimal lights, unplug devices not in-use, laptops, cellphones, devices on a battery, fans, etc.

  • If health allows, set temperatures inside to 78F or higher.

Flex Alerts are often issued twenty-four hours in advance, providing all of us with enough time to pre-cool our homes by closing blinds and minimizing our light usage.

Grid alerts, on the other hand, are emergency alerts involving our electric grid and are instantly communicated

NEW BUS + BIKE LANES | 🚌 New lanes added in La Brea: L.A. bus riders, rejoice! The new La Brea peak-hour bus lanes are now open, a collaborative effort between Metro, Los Angeles, and West Hollywood. Spanning approximately 2.5 miles, these lanes operate on weekdays from 7-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. Notably, the lanes are designated for both buses and bicycles, promoting shared use. Although the initially planned 5.9-mile span was reduced, this progress is an exciting step toward enhancing transit efficiency and accessibility
